The DeTar Family Medicine Residency Program is designed to ensure medical school graduates obtain broad, hands-on experience in preparation for the next step in their professional journeys. Residents obtain the knowledge and skills to pursue a primary care practice, a fellowship, research or academic medicine.
The depth-and-breadth of services at DeTar Healthcare System affords graduates a unique residency that includes:
- International/tropical medicine rotations
- Scholarly and research activities
- Integrated behavioral health sessions
- Training with telemedicine technology
- Practice administration taught by hospital administrators
- Integrated diabetes and chronic disease curriculum
- Three community health clinics
