Qualifications

All applicants must:

  • Be a U.S. Citizen or a permanent U.S. resident. Our residency program does not accept or sponsor visas of any kind.
  • Have graduated from medical school within the last 10 years and have recent clinical experience.
  • Medical School must be listed on the Texas Medical Board Schools whose graduates have demonstrated substantial equivalence of their education
  • Have passed the USMLE Step 1 or COMLEX 1 exam, preferably on the first attempt, and provide documentation of having passed Level 2 prior to being ranked for a position in our program.
  • COMLEX Passing scores are accepted and considered equivalent to USMLE.
  • No more than one cumulative failure is permitted for eligibility.
  • Be proficient in spoken and written English language.
  • Have at least one year of U.S. clinical experience, defined as “supervised direct patient care” through research or observer-ship positions.
