Residents will have the opportunity to make an impact in their community while providing care for underserved populations. DeTar residents will round at community clinics, gaining firsthand experience comorbidities affecting our homeless community, helping survivors of domestic violence regain their health and safety, and understanding the special needs for patients struggling with mental and behavioral health. Residents will also provide annual physicals and immunization clinics for the local school district and participate in community health events, such as diabetes education.
